Many would say that I am crazy. I’m starting to believe it myself. I have volunteered to be elected as president for the 2009/10 school year at Lark Ellen Elementary School. Why would you say that I’m crazy? Because I’m a past president that knows exactly what I’m getting myself into, plus there are some relationship hurdles I have to jump before the year promises to continue on with a low level of stress. What are those hurdles, you ask?
- I have a teacher that appears to hate my guts because of misconceptions from my previous stint as president.
- We are getting a whole new principal this year.
- I want (and completely believe in) a Direct Donation fundraiser this year.
- I have to come up with innovative ways to fundraise that won’t feel like fundraising to the parents of Lark Ellen, especially now that California schools are feeling the bite of extreme budget cuts which seem to get progressively worse year after year.
So, do you have any advice for me? Hmmm . . . well, when you think of something please tug at my ear. I am more than willing to learn from other units. Meanwhile, I will be blogging and tweeting about my year as president. This should be fun.
